

Dr. Sneha Thamotharan, a licensed clinical psychologist with a specialization in pediatrics and young adulthood, and a mother of two. She brings a wealth of experience and a nurturing perspective to her practice. With a focus on assessment and treatment tailored to children, adolescents, young adults, and families, Dr. Thamotharan's approach is characterized by responsiveness, psychological safety, and empowerment. She values collaborative partnerships providing empathetic, thoughtful, and personalized care.
Her educational journey includes a Bachelor of Arts and Science (B.A.S.) from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), a Master of Arts (MA) in Psychology from the University of Houston Clear Lake, and a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Clinical Psychology from Texas A&M University. She completed her residency in Pediatric Psychology and a fellowship in Pediatric Health Services at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with esteemed institutions such as Texas Children’s Hospital, Hasbro Children’s Hospital, Bradley Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Colorado, and Brenner Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Thamotharan, was a faculty member at the University of Colorado Denver and Anschutz Medical Campus and has 27 publications (including 22 peer-reviewed publications). She now serves as a Director at Advocate Health. Alongside this role, she holds an Assistant Professor position in the Department of Pediatrics at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Her research and teaching have been funded by the National Institutes of Health, Agency of Healthcare Research and Quality, and the Department of Education.

Dr. Thamotharan is an extensively trained clinical psychologist with rigorous training. She completed her residency and fellowship at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She was a faculty member at the University of Colorado Denver and Anschutz Medical Campus. She currently is an Assistant Professor at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Her work has been federally funded by the National Institutes of Health, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, and the Department of Education. She is also the mother of two – and understands the parent perspective.

Dr. Thamotharan takes the time to comprehensively understand your needs, and your goals so that we can develop a personalized treatment plan. She is available to patients directly via email, phone, and text messaging.

With your permission, Dr. Thamotharan will organize and share information with all providers involved in your child’s care and well-being. These individuals could include student disability services, school counselors, teachers, medical providers, and therapists. Your time is valuable, and we want to help you access the care and services you deserve. Services may include gifted programming, an IEP, ABA therapy, or standardized testing accommodations.
Our office is conveniently located in the Piedmont Triad - near Burlington, High Point, Greensboro, Kernersville, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Parking is free. We are near the Palladium Shopping Center, close to restaurants and shops. Our office is accessible, comfortable, and welcoming.
